Position Summary:
The ideal candidate in this position will play a crucial role within the collections department. This role will be working as part of the collections team and in regular communications with the legal department, responsible for assisting with the preparation and review of legal documents related to dept collection. It is important for this role to have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of legal principles relevant to the financial services industry. 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Legal Document Preparation - Draft, review, and assist in the finalization of various legal documents and court filings.

·       Compliance - Help ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws by monitoring changes and keeping updated on regulations affecting the collections process. 

·       Case Management - Manage and organize case files, documents, and correspondence to ensure efficient and timely handling of legal matters.

·       Litigation Support – Assist in preparing for court cases supporting the legal department.

·       Administrative Support – Maintain and update databases with case information, contact details, and status updates.

Generate reports and summaries for leadership as required.

Competencies: 

·       High Ethical Standards - Given the sensitive nature of financial transactions, paralegals in the financial services industry must adhere to high ethical standards.

·       Detail Orientation - Thoroughly review legal documents, contracts, and regulatory filings to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.

·       Communication Skills - Effectively communicate both orally and in writing, including drafting clear and concise legal documents and correspondence.

·       Organizational Skills - Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

·       Collaboration - Work collaboratively with the collections department and its members, internal stakeholders, and external parties to achieve common goals and objectives.

Requirements: 

·       Minimum 5 years of experience as a paralegal.

·       Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

·       Notary Public certification required
