Overview: The Project Manager II is responsible for ensuring that all project obligations are delivered according to both industry and company standards. This includes managing financial performance, ensuring workplace safety, and developing strong relationships with employees and customers. The role requires liaison with cross-functional internal teams (including Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Administration) to enhance the overall customer experience. A strong background in physical security (Access Control, CCTV, & Intrusion Detection systems) and infrastructure is highly desirable. Additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Project Leadership:
    • Lead multiple projects and teams, both locally and nationally, ensuring consistent delivery of quality and timely results.
    • Recruit, hire, and train project teams to maintain a high standard of performance.
    • Provide leadership and direction to direct reports in all aspects of project installation.
  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and implement detailed project plans, maintaining high standards of quality assurance, financial performance, and schedule adherence.
    • Define all project tasks and resource requirements to ensure clarity and efficiency.
    • Understand and oversee installation methods and commissioning for integrated systems, including Security, Audio Visual, Access Control, and Infrastructure Cabling.
  • Data Management and Reporting:
    • Collect necessary data, including as-built pictures and other deliverables, for project closeout documentation.
    • Provide daily and weekly reports on project progress and issues to relevant stakeholders.
    • Manage and approve project schedules and timesheets, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure that project foremen initiate daily team safety meetings and properly document meeting minutes.
    • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety regulations and protocols. 
  • Mentorship and Development:
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to Project Manager I positions to enhance their ability to execute projects and coordinate tasks effectively.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment to promote continuous learning and improvement.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management:
    • Effectively manage an average combined project workload between $2M - $5M.
    • Communicate professionally with clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns promptly.
    • Collaborate with internal sales, estimating, and engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Must have verifiable project management experience or relevant industry experience to manage multiple projects with multiple customers simultaneously.
    • Experience managing projects within and outside of the home base area, overseeing multiple installation teams across the country.
  • Skills:
    • Self-motivated with strong leadership and problem-solving skills to guide project teams to successful completion.
    • Excellent communication skills, capable of providing direct updates to clients and the Premise One leadership team.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions, and identify potential risks.
    • Proficiency in collaborating with internal sales, estimating, and engineering teams.
    • Competence in reviewing drawings, blueprints, and other customer-related documents to manage projects effectively.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Ability to travel as needed for assigned customer accounts.
    • Flexibility to perform additional duties as required to support project and company goals.

 

Interaction with Others: The Project Manager must be able to follow Company policies; receive directions from others; work effectively with co-workers in a constructive and positive manner; listen to and objectively consider ideas and suggestions for improvement; keep others informed of work progress, deadlines, or other pertinent issues; address problems constructively to find acceptable solutions; keep commitments; and always respect the diversity of the Company's work force in actions, words and deeds.

 

Experience: Three to Five years related experience and/or training required.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, write correspondence, and communicate effectively with others and third parties, preferably, and sometimes exclusively, in English.

Mathematical Skills: Competent ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Competent ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability: Competent ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in situations where only limited standardizations exists.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Driving is a requirement for this position therefore A valid driver's license is required. The employee's motor vehicle record will be subject to the policies and provisions contained in the company's Fleet Safety Program.

First-Aid and CPR Certification a plus
