Job description

Sterling Personnel, Inc. is recruiting for a Medical Billing Clerk for our client located in Corpus Christi, TX. The Medical Billing Clerk duties will include processing daily charges, positing payments, filling insurance claims, and billing outpatient statements. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position with an expected schedule of Monday through Thursday from 8am – 5pm and Friday from 8am – 4pm.

Medical Billing Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Coding and posting daily charges for patients
  • Coding charges using correct CPT and ICD 10 codes
  • Reviewing patient accounts
  • Discussing payments with patients, and setting up payment plans when necessary
  • Updating aging report and making collection calls on past due accounts
  • Verifying charges on patient accounts
  • Correcting coding errors and refiling claims
  • Maintaining quality assurance standards for department and report any discrepancies

Medical Billing Clerk Requirements:

  • 2+ years of Medical Billing experience preferred
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor at all times
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and written
  • Able to meet weekly deadlines with high degree of accuracy
