We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to join our team and manage the financial operations of our growing business.

Job Overview:
As a hands on Controller, you will be responsible for all financial aspects of the company, all accounting functions, financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role requires  you to be detail oriented with analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • All accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including tax filings, audits, and financial reporting standards.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial information.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction and profit improvement.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to provide financial insights and recommendations for business decisions.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, promoting professional development and ensuring efficient operation of the finance department.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for year-end audits and tax preparation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience in the commercial cleaning or related service industry is a plus.
