Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to join our team. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Controller will work closely with the Club's management and executive team to lead the Club's accounting and business functions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, Human Resources, and financial reporting.
  2. Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  3. Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and variance reports to provide insights into the company's financial performance in a timely and efficient manner.
  4. Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure to optimize financial resources and support business growth.
  5. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of audit deliverables.
  6. Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, including financial planning, risk management, and investment oversight.
  7. Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve financial performance.
  8. Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and implementing necessary updates.
  9. Supervise and mentor staff in completing key tasks to achieve expected metrics, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and teamwork.


Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, with a minimum of [7] years of experience in accounting and finance.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  4. Background and experience in Human Resources, Payroll, and annual reporting requirements.
  5. Proficiency in financial software and payroll systems; experience with Northstar Club Software, a plus.
  6. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
  7. Exceptional leadership abilities, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with members, owners and managers at all levels of the organization.
  9. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity in financial reporting and compliance.
  10. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities and interruptions effectively.
