We are seeking an 'Order Entry Pharmacy Technician' to became a part of our team  The responsibilities include accurately entering prescription orders into the computer system, assisting pharmacists in providing quality care to patients, nurses and doctors.  In addition to being a team player with colleagues within the pharmacy.  This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of medication types and dosing of medication.  Must be able to work one Saturday a month from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter new prescriptions and refills orders into the pharmacy software.
  • Verify patient information, including name, date of birth and insurance details.
  • Double-Check entries for accuracy and completeness before finalizing orders.
  • Identify potential drug interactions, contraindications, or allergies for pharmacist review.
  • Ensure the correct selection of medications, dosages, and quantities.
  • Work closely with pharmacists to clarify prescription details and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by selecting the correct medication from listed inventory on hand.
  • Report any shortages or discrepancies to the inventory manager or pharmacist.
  • Adhere to all relevant federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures regarding patient confidentiality and data security (HIPAA)
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing nursing inquiries and concerns professionally.
  • Assist in resolving issues related to prescription orders as needed.
  • Provide updates to providers regarding prescriptions status as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.
  • Helping answer phones and process calls as needed.

​Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in pharmacy required.
  • Active Pharmacy Technician License with the State of Mississippi.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and dosage forms.
