Job Summary:

The Industrial Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team and ensuring that all plant equipment, machinery, and systems are maintained in optimal operating condition. The supervisor will lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, coordinate preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure compliance with safety standards. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Leadership:

    • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
    • Assign tasks and responsibilities, monitor work progress, and ensure that maintenance activities are completed on time and to the required standards.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement development plans for team members.

  • Preventive Maintenance:

    • Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend the life of machinery.
    • Schedule and oversee regular inspections, repairs, and upgrades to equipment and systems.

  • Troubleshooting and Repairs:

    • Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly, diagnose issues, and lead the team in executing repairs to minimize production disruptions.
    • Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve recurring equipment issues.

  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
    • Conduct safety meetings, training sessions, and safety audits to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, equipment maintenance, and repairs.

  • Inventory and Budget Management:

    • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies, ensuring that critical components are available when needed.
    • Prepare and manage the maintenance department budget, controlling costs while maintaining high standards of maintenance.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and increased efficiency within the maintenance department.
    • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance equipment performance and reliability.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment, machinery, and systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and practices in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working in a physically demanding environment.
  • Exposure to loud noises, moving mechanical parts, and potentially hazardous materials.
