Job DescriptionJob Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive research on individuals, foundations, and corporations to identify potential major donors, including wealth indicators, philanthropic interests, and connections.
  2. Utilize various research tools and databases to gather information.
  3. Analyze research findings and prepare detailed profiles and summaries for use by the team in donor cultivation and solicitation efforts.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the database system, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  5. Collaborate closely with colleagues, including gift officers, prospect researchers, and database administrators, to support fundraising initiatives and campaigns.
  6. Assist in special projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field such as nonprofit management, fundraising, market research, or information science.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to gather, evaluate, and synthesize information from multiple sources.
  • Proficiency in using online research tools and databases, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and succinctly.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a fundraising or nonprofit environment, particularly in donor research or prospect management.
  • Familiarity with fundraising databases such as Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or DonorPerfect.
  • Knowledge of ethical guidelines and best practices in prospect research and fundraising.
