We are seeking a Mechatronics Engineer Technician to join our team You will be responsible for the development and building of drive units for stage machines including power distribution and controls

Requirements:

5+ Years Experience 

  • machine wiring
  • Drive panel wiring 
  • Sensor wiring 

3+ Years Experience 

  • VFD panel layout
  • High voltage/high current wiring (277/480 VAC, 100+ Amps)
  • High frequency signal wiring (sensors, RS485, etc)

BS Mechatronics Engineering, or related engineering degree programs (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical)

 

Familiar with:

 

UL 508A

UL 1640

NFPA 70

AutoCAD Electrical, or equivalent 

Electrical testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeter, etc

 

This is a project leadership role, working with company management to continue development on an ongoing project encompassing machinery and electrical systems used in entertainment automation. You will be responsible for leading a small team to design, build, and commission all related electrical equipment used in a complete, and proprietary automated stage rigging system. This includes power distribution panels, transformers, signal processing equipment, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and all related cabling. You will be expected to research and select components, communicate with vendors, and keep track of inventory and lead time of required equipment. You will communicate directly with the Director of Automation to determine schedules to ensure project deadlines are met. This is a fast paced, high stakes position that will challenge you on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and improve automated systems, drives, machines, power distribution and software.
  • Support the installation of both mechanical and controls
  • Research and implement new machinery and controls for stage applications
  • Coordinate with mechanical engineering on the design of machines and controls
  • Document all technical procedures and procedures wiring schematics

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in mechatronics engineering or other related fields a plus
  • Familiarity with intelligent and industrial systems
  • Familiarity with CAD or other related software
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
