Position Summary: We are seeking a Corporate Trainer with a deep knowledge of lighting products to manage and maintain our dedicated showroom at the Dallas Convention Center. This role involves conducting both in-person and virtual training seminars, coordinating training events, and ensuring the showroom is up-to-date and functional. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with showroom build-out, knowledgeable about product installation and specifications, and adept at creating engaging and interactive training experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the dedicated showroom at the Dallas Convention Center.
  • Ensure the showroom is up-to-date and showcases all relevant product categories, including functional lighting (recessed, linear lighting, tape lighting, track lighting, smart home integrations) and decorative lighting.
  • Collaborate with managers in human resources and business groups to determine training requirements. Partner with Marketing, R&D, and IoT teams on new product course trainings.
  • Conduct live, in-person training seminars and virtual training sessions for sales representatives, customers and employees.
  • Develop training programs in easy to understand, laymen’s terminology for non-technical audiences.
  • Create effective training programs that align with organizational needs and facilitate employee skill development.
  • Develop interactive and engaging training content. Create educational materials, such as videos and module summaries, to support training programs.
  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of training events, including travel, attendee lists, meals, and entertainment.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to ensure the success of each event.
  • Work with marketing to advertise training events and coordinate giveaways.
  • Participate in showroom build-out to gain a deep understanding of product installation and specification requirements.
  • Ensure all training events are practical and hands-on.
  • Achieve CEU certification to present IDCEC and ALA-approved presentations to the design community (training will be provided).
  • Act as a champion for our company-wide Learning Management Software (LMS) platform. Monitor and report on LMS KPIs, including course completion, engagement scores, and lead generation.
  • Manage training budgets and maintain attendance and other records.
  • Engage with the customer base to entice them with new offerings and updates.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in training, preferably in the lighting industry and/or within wireless smart home systems.
  • Technical curiosity and competence with knowledge of various lighting product and smart home integrations.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Strong organizational and event planning abilities.
  • Hands-on experience with product installation and specifications.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • CEU certification for IDCEC and ALA presentations (or willingness to obtain certification).
  • Experience with Learning Management Software (LMS) and course development is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
