This role requires extensive experience in restaurant bookkeeping, a deep understanding of payroll processes, and familiarity with accounting software commonly used in the restaurant industry, such as Square and Fintech. Experience with ADP payroll systems is also highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Keeping: Accurately record daily financial transactions, ensuring all purchases, sales, receipts, and payments are documented correctly.
- Ledger Management: Ensure transactions are properly recorded in day books, suppliers ledgers, customer ledgers, and general ledgers.
- Trial Balance: Prepare books to the trial balance stage and perform partial checks to verify accuracy.
- Tax Compliance: Complete and file tax forms in adherence to applicable regulations.
- Reporting: Enter data, maintain records, and generate detailed financial reports and statements as needed.
- Accounts Management: Efficiently manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Payroll Processing: Handle all payroll functions, including wage calculation, payroll deductions, and timely payment to employees. Proficiency with ADP payroll systems is a key requirement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the accounting team to analyze financial reports and ensure legal compliance.
- Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality and security of all financial information.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders with strong communication and negotiation skills.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a bookkeeper, with a mandatory background in restaurant bookkeeping. Familiarity with ADP payroll systems is essential.
- Skills: Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, with expertise in accounts payable/receivable. Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting software, particularly those used in the restaurant industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred; an Associate degree in a related field is required.
- Language: Proficiency in English and MS Office applications.
- Customer Focus: Demonstrated customer service orientation with excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Availability: Must be available for full-time work and able to reliably commute or relocate to Miami, FL 33181.
