Industrial Design Assistant

$25.00 per hour to start

As Industrial Design Assistant, you will:

  • Join a designer and manufacturer of custom industrial fabrics for industry
  • Receive complete training
  • Report to the Shop Manager
  • Learn to review new orders
  • Learn to hand draw patterns/designs for industrial fabrics
  • Learn to notate details for production teams
  • Details include, where to place grommets and where to weld
  • Make alterations and adjustments to existing designs as necessary
  • Learn to create shop tickets and work instructions
  • Identify labor and material requirements for each job
  • Learn to establish anticipated production timelines for each job
  • Uphold quality standards
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Escalate complex issues as necessary
  • Perform additional document review, document control and document processing activities
  • Maintain manual and electronic project files
  • Handle special projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

An ideal candidate profile will include:

  • Drafting, Design and/or Product Development experience
  • Above average basic math skills
  • A High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • +++ Engineering experience
  • +++ Industrial Design experience
  • +++ CAD and/or 3D Modeling experience
