Job Summary:

This is an opportunity to be a part of growing business in an exciting industry. The Stone Installation Specialist is responsible for overseeing the entire process of templating and installing high-end stone on luxury yachts and marine vessels. This role involves visiting yachts, creating accurate measurements and detailed drawings, coordinating with stone fabricators, and ensuring flawless installation and repair of stone surfaces. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to delivering top-quality craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Visits and Documentation:
    • Visit yachts as per the schedule provided.
    • Accurately measure and create detailed drawings of the project areas on the yachts.
    • Take high-quality photographs of the project areas for documentation.
    • Email all measurements, drawings, and photos to company for quoting.
  • Template and Pattern Creation:
    • Develop precise templates or patterns based on the project requirements.
    • Deliver templates to the fabricator for stone cutting and finishing.
  • Material Handling and Coordination:
    • Coordinate with the fabricator for the timely pick-up of completed stone materials.
    • Safely transport the finished stone pieces to the yacht for installation.
  • Installation:
    • Install fabricated stone surfaces on yachts with precision and attention to detail.
    • Ensure that all installations meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
    • Provide on-site trimming and cutting of finished surfaces for precise fit.
    • Clean up all finished areas.
  • Repair and Restoration:
    • Assess and repair any damaged stone surfaces on yachts.
    • Coordinate with stone restoration division to return surfaces to their original appearance, ensuring seamless integration with existing materials.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in stone installation, fabrication experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of natural stone surfaces and materials, tools, and installation techniques.
  • Proficiency in safely using hand and power tools relevant to tile and stone installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Physical ability to handle heavy and delicate stone materials and perform installations on yachts.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English, Spanish is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working on luxury yachts or high-end residential/commercial projects.
  • Familiarity with the specific challenges of working in a marine environment.
  • Familiarity with marine industry terminology.
  • Basic knowledge of stone repair and restoration techniques.

Work Environment:

  • Frequent travel to boat yards and marinas throughout South Florida.
  • Work may involve both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Must be comfortable working in a physically demanding role, including lifting heavy materials and working in confined spaces.
  • The position requires the use of protective gear, such as gloves and goggles, and adherence to safety protocols.

·       Able to handle heavy materials

·       Ability to exercise extreme care and caution while transporting stone and tools on vessels.

·       Maintain, organize, and clean work area on the yachts, leaving work areas spotless when finished

Compensation:

  • Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s

particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The

company is willing to pay at the high end of the market for the right candidate.

 Benefits include 3 paid vacation weeks and 6 national holidays, and opportunities for professional development.
