Job Overview

The HVACTechnician/Journeyman will play a crucial role in performing installation, maintenance, and repair tasks on HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating and cooling systems in residential and commercial buildings. You will utilize your expertise to diagnose HVAC issues accurately and provide effective solutions, ensuring optimal operations. This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC principles, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, including effectively communicating with clients and addressing their HVAC needs.
  • Communicate with management and coworkers.
  • Assess various types of refrigerants, pressure reading, and set points.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, diagrams and schematics.
  • Install new HVAC systems
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC system malfunctions, including mechanical and electrical components.
  • Replace or repair defective parts or components, ensuring proper functioning of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including labor, materials, and equipment used.
  • Assist in determining material and equipment required for a job.
  • Adhere to OSHA safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  • Mentor and assist HVAC helpers and apprentices as needed
  • Seek to continue learning and develop your own skills.
  • We will assist with journeyman licensing.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills demonstrating ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team and individuals
  • Be customer service oriented
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments (e.g., confined spaces, heights).
  • Strong understanding of HVAC principles, including refrigeration, air flow, and electrical components.
  • Technical knowledge to service, diagnose and repair HVAC equipment.
  • Technical knowledge to size and replace HVAC equipment.

Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience of residential/commercial HVAC services
  • Journeyman HVAC license preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent desired
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test, background check, hold a valid driver’s license and clean MVR record, and sign a non-compete agreement.
