JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Ernest Thompson is seeking a full-time sales professional for its custom-made furniture lines. This candidate will have a proven track record in the sales arena, and the expertise to work with customers in the affluent, high-end consumer market. Sales experience is a MUST; Design experience is a PLUS. This position is full-time, weekdays. Customer interaction is entirely by appointment only allowing the flexibility to build relationships outside of our Showroom, and to penetrate our key markets. In addition to our national reach and referrals from our website and social media presence, our focus markets are the Mountain States, the Southwest, Texas and California.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Engage with customers on a by-appointment basis during a full-time work week, 8 am -5 pm, Monday through Friday.

 

Meet and exceed monthly individual and team sales targets.

 

Develop and deepen a solid understanding of our furniture lines including new designs.

 

Understand and provide detailed product information including design features, benefits and care instructions.

 

Assist customers in customizing their furniture and/or assisting in selecting furniture from our stunning collection lines.

 

Create and manage customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.

 

Interact and coordinate with our artisans to ensure accuracy to meet the customers’ needs.

 

Interact actively and proactively with the Design community including initiating and deepening existing and new relationships throughout the focus market with Interior Designers, Architects and General Contractors as well as the general public.

 

Actively pursue Website inquiries.

 

Process transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale systems.

 

Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues and concerns promptly.

 

Maintain an inviting and organized Showroom by arranging and highlighting merchandise.

 

Collaborate with owner and team members to ensure a positive and cohesive work environment.

 

Participate in training and stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

 

Be the ambassador for the Ernest Thompson brand by opening up new avenues for furniture sales growth.
