Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Technician ensures the operational efficiency of electrical and mechanical systems within the facility. This role involves regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all mechanical and electrical equipment to prevent downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery. The technician will be skilled in reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct routine and breakdown maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facilities.

Troubleshoot and repair issues with electrical circuits, mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic devices.

Interpret electrical schematics and diagrams for effective troubleshooting and repair.

Troubleshoot PLCs and other control systems to ensure efficient operation of production machinery.

Operate a variety of hand and power tools, as well as electrical and mechanical diagnostic equipment.

Maintain compliance with company safety standards and adhere to OSHA regulations.

Document maintenance procedures and repairs for company records and compliance.

Coordinate with production teams to schedule repairs and routine checks without disrupting production.

Engage in training and development sessions to stay current with industry trends and technologies.

Maintain spare parts inventory

Apply verbal and written communication skills to communicate important issues to management and co-workers.

Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.

Work Environment

Employees work in settings where they are frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and electrical systems. Exposure to moderate noise levels, dust, and varying temperatures is common. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this Job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of up to 50 pounds. The ability to climb ladders and work at heights or in confined spaces is also necessary.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree or vocational training in mechanical or electrical field preferred. At least five (5) years of experience in a maintenance role within an industrial environment, with a strong emphasis on electrical troubleshooting.

Training, Certifications, Licenses

Valid state driver's license required. Professional certification in electrical or mechanical fields is advantageous. Background, DMV, credit checks and drug and alcohol screening may be conducted as a condition of employment and continued employment.

Protective Equipment

Required safety equipment includes safety glasses, safety toe boots, and hearing protection.
