SUMMARY
Manages and directs warranty administration for Modern including the processing of warranty claims via computer and dealing with Hyundai and other manufactures that Modern Group represents. Has discretion to decide the dollar amount of a warranty claim and to compromise and settle such claims with suppliers. Has discretion to write off claims considered uncollectible and to determine eligibility for warranty recovery. Must possess good judgment and ability to negotiate. Strong computer skills including NAV and various manufacturer programs required. Technical skills and background are extremely helpful.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Analyze and edit warranty requirements in accordance with specifications acceptable with the manufacture, factory and Modern Group.
Process claims received from all Modern branches for completeness and conciseness of warranty claims. Report to Management on the status of warranty claims in general and any changes needed to improve the process.
Assemble information from offices in relationship to the processing of description, labor and parts under the warranty agreements.
Monitor of labor so the job description and rates will match the best possible return for claims to enhance profitability and retain cost controls.
Knowledge of the mechanics of internal combustion and electric trucks, and basics of construction equipment.
Apply technical knowledge to estimate an assure the quality and cost controls for proper payable and receivable billings on orders.
Essential understanding of warranty process and requirements therein for Hyundai and other manufacturers.
Ensure that the required information is input into the computer system and provided to manufacturers.
Maintain records of all warranty issues and update as necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job may have direct supervisory responsibilities depending on the work volume. Usually has one direct report.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
