Wag Central in Stratford, CT is seeking a part-time shift leader to provide exceptional dog care in our busy boutique Boarding, Grooming and Daycare facility.  Candidates should be comfortable working with all breeds, temperaments, and sizes of dogs, both indoors and outdoors (all seasons). 

Professional dog handling experience is preferred, preferably in a dog play/social setting. Shifts are typically 6- 8 hours long, requiring you to be on your feet and physically active.  

Specifically needed: afternoons from 1:30 - 7 pm daily and 
*One weekend shift per week (8am - 4pm) and availability during the summer, holiday vacations and school breaks are required.*

Maintaining a clean environment for animals is a significant part of this role. This position is best suited for individuals who enjoy cleaning, are physically active, and have a love for animals. 

REQUIREMENTS:REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to maintain a demanding work pace on foot throughout the shift including stairs and varied landscape
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Adaptability to all weather conditions
- Comfort with dogs, cats, and exotic pets
- High level of responsibility (including reliable transportation)
- Overall love and respect for animals
- Must be over the age of 19

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Managing and socializing  groups of dogs and staff in daycare
- Meal preparation and regular watering
- Cleaning dog runs, doing laundry, and dishes
- Maintaining cleanliness throughout the day
- Monitoring and reporting on animals' health and behavior
- Tracking identification, records, medications, and whereabouts
