Patient Accounts Specialist, Outpatient Business Office


Conifer Park is seeking a Patient Accounts Specialist to join our Business Office in Glenville, NY. In this role, you will handle collection of outstanding assigned accounts receivable from the time of admission through discharge for patients receiving Substance Abuse services at any of our clinics. Duties include performing follow-up with insurance companies, validation of payments, communicating with staff at the clinics to ensure self-pay balances are accurate and collected. You will be responsible for the review of all new Intakes for Conifer Park and Arms Acres clinics for your assigned AR to ensure a clean claim is billed. Analyze payments received to validate for possible manual adjustments, communicating with appropriate departments for possible benefit changes, and need for authorizations. Duties will also include billing daily claims using our clearing house, mailing paper claims and self-pay statements for your assigned accounts receivable (AR). Other duties as assigned.

SCHEDULE: Mondays - Fridays 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM


Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school or GED with a minimum of 2 years A/R or billing experience
  • Associates Degree in related field preferred with 1 year related experience
  • Spreadsheet and Word-processing experience
  • Ability to type proficiently and accurately
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of numbers and decimals
