What You'll Do:
- Maintain all functions of the National Workshops Parts Department/Area (ordering parts, maintaining proper inventory, dispatch parts, deliver parts, ship parts to Warranties as requested).
- Nature and scope of main accountabilities:
- Retrieves (pulls) purchased parts from inventory or if the requested parts are not in inventory determines availability, prepare parts requisition, and submit order as required
- Stock incoming inventory in the correct location
- Keeps accurate records of special-order parts
- Establishes individual parts inventory levels and balances them for maximum turnover
- Maintain the parts department in clean and orderly manner
- Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up
- Verify "will call" and "back-order" files weekly and return to vendors, or stock those items not required
- Receives and ships parts in accordance with company policies; hazmat and/or dangerous goods certifications
- Assists service drive employees in selecting parts needed for repairs in process
- Ensures all parts entering and exiting the Parts Department are accounted for and processed in accordance with company policies
- Maintains inventory on shelves and in bins by reporting items needing to be reordered, identifying any discrepancies in stock levels, and returning unsold items to stock
- Ensures that all parts are properly tagged so that the dealership recovers full credit from Warranty Parts Returns
- Completes all documents, forms and reports in accordance with company policy
What You Bring:
- Qualifications:
- High School or Equivalent.
- 2 - 3 years Parts department retail or warehouse inventory control experience
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Computer literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, general computer knowledge)
- Ability to
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Read and comprehend written instructions and information
- Confront and resolve difficult customer service situations
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- General knowledge of automotive parts and vehicle mechanical operations
- Must be able to lift heavy packages (parts/tires)
