We’re seeking a detail-oriented Communications Specialist with expertise in content development, editing, and proofreading. Responsibilities include managing newsletters, blogs, podcasts, and writing social media content. The role also involves collaborating with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders, and handling financial transactions with vendors.

 

Position Functions and Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1.Content Development and Management:

·        Write, edit, and oversee newsletter and blog content, ensuring brand voice and high-quality output from consultants

·        Finalize marketing materials, style guides, and brand documents to keep content relevant and accurate.

·        Conduct research and work with the team to develop engaging feature stories that support the foundation strategic goals.

 

2.Podcast Production and Social Media Management:

·        Co-manage podcast production, including coordination, editing, and documentation.

·        Assist with social media content creation and calendar development.

 

3.Events Management and Logistical Support:

•        Handle logistics for events, including venue and travel arrangements.

•        Manage sponsorships and maintain vendor relationships.

 

4.Daily Administration:

•        Manage communication channels and consultant invoices.

•        Address requests and ensure timely responses.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•        Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.

•        Ability to develop and pitch engaging stories to media outlets.

•        Strong understanding of media landscapes and media relations best practices.

•        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

•        Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

•        Proficiency in Arabic is a plus but not required

 

Requirements

•        2-4 years of experience in media relations, journalism, or a communications role with a focus on writing.

 

Education

•        Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

 

Working Conditions

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Must be able to lift and carry at least 25 lbs.

The position is based in the Washington, DC office

Approximately 25-30% of domestic and international travel may be required.
