This position assists in the operation of the production department lines under the direct supervision of the Production Supervisor.

· Participates in the supervision of production employees.

· Recognize and report any situation that could affect the safety of an employee.

· Obtain all necessary packaging and or processing materials ahead of time.

· Recognize and report any situation that could reduce production efficiency or plant productivity and could affect the quality of the product or service.

· Making sure that the employees are doing the monitoring of the CCP according with the HACCP procedure.

· Monitor that the product is being produced and packed within specifications.

· Inform employees under his/her direction about production and attendance schedule.

· Complete all assigned paperwork with accuracy and legibility.

· Assist in the preparation of production reports.

· Participate in product mock recalls.

· Monitor the attendance of employees under his/her direction.

· Contact employees when machinery breaks down or any other unforeseen situation occurs.

· Recognize and report any major deviations from the production schedule.

· Perform inventories of raw and packaging materials.

· Schedule employees breaks and lunches in a manner that will maximize productivity.

· Help relieve employees during lunch.

· Rotate employees in a manner that will maximize productivity.

· Train new employees and monitor their progress as well as assist in evaluating them.

· Operate all machinery within his/her work cell (check-weightier, SAP system, pallet jack, label machine, metal detector, etc.)

· Notify maintenance and management when machinery breakdowns occur.

· Ensure that all employees are complying with the GMP’S and Safety rules.

· Perform pre-operational inspections.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. 2 years of experience in a production line in a manufacturing plant required. Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing preferred. Previous Leadership experience preferred. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

· Experience overseeing a production line is highly preferred.

· Experience and exposure to regulatory inspections (AIB, OSHA, MILITARY, Health Dept., EPA, City & County Inspectors)

· Must have good organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize assigned work.

· Experience with manufacturing safety concepts, applications, and committees.

· Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices

· Must be able to work independently with a proven record of follow-though, teamwork and accountability.

· Excellent people skills with the ability to adapt to system changes as needed.

· Good math skills

· Able to perform simple analysis.

· SAP & Kronos knowledge preferred.

· Effectively communicate in Spanish and English both verbal and written (desirable)

· Be able to walk long distances and to be on his/her feet for long periods of time.

· Able to work in dusty, noisy, hot, cold, and small areas.

· Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.

· Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.

· Be able to lift to 50lbs.

 

Shift: 3rd (9:30pm-6am) Sunday-Thursday

Pay: $28hr
