Job Location can be in Tampa, FL or Jacksonville, FL.

HeadsUp Healthcare is looking for a Collections Specialist in our Tampa, FL office to support our Finance Team. HeadsUp Healthcare is patient-first specialty managed care company for injured workers focusing exclusively on above the neck injuries. We’re looking for talented and professional team members to provide superior customer care.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Answering incoming finance calls/email inquiries from customers as well as providers
  • Communicate with outside customers regarding billing issues
  • Collaborate on collection strategies with management and leadership
  • Contact customers by telephone to coordinate payment of outstanding balances
  • Prevent recurring delinquency by educating customers on the billing process and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of all documents, payments, and applicable information
  • Research available resources to track down appropriate contacts for billing discrepancies
  • Perform all other duties and assignments as directed by management

Required skills and abilities:

  • Ability to work well individually and in a team environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Analytical ability with adept research skills
  • Usage of office equipment (copier, scanner, PC)
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must be able to multi-task, follow procedures and have active listening skills
  • Bi-lingual is a plus
  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Outlook and all MSOffice essentials
  • AR Analytics experience
  • Client Reporting Excel
  • AR Training / Coaching Collections team members
  • Contract review for Finance (If assigned)
  • Verifying eligibility of claim using web-based portal
  • Meet with upper management when required to discuss collections plans of action

Education/Experience

  • Collections experience in a healthcare setting
  • EDI Electronic Billing experience
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Microsoft Office Applications
  • Bi-lingual is a plus
