Overview

The Associate Designer’s primary responsibility is to facilitate the development process of new styles. This role works in support of the Creative Director/Owner to design and develop innovative products.

This role is a special opportunity for a creative individual who has vision and drive related to branding and design. As a designer for YLLW, you have the rare opportunity to be a part of a growing business with no limits.


Responsibilities

  • The Associate Designer will contribute to the creation, development, and execution of clothing
  • Contribution to the design process including sketching new ideas with the help of Procreate and Adobe Illustrator programs, researching new trends and ideas
  • Support creative storyboarding and annual collection strategy
  • Execute specific design development projects as assigned by the Creative Director/Owner
  • Responsible for certain styles and communication with factories for those styles.
  • Design, execute, and make repeating prints for collections.
  • Create detailed spec sheets including key measurements, fabrics, and trim for all specified products. Assist team members with all developments & communication as needed.
  • Manage development and execution of all specified design packages and follow up with factories.
  • Manage timelines of specified products from sampling to point where final samples can be handed off for PO placement.
  • Conduct fit reviews and take notes. Communicate fit and construction details to cross-functional partners.
  • Participate in research and report on industry trend direction, color direction, and fabric innovations that can relate to the YLLW customer.


Skills

  • Must skill for this role: Excellent hand and computer sketching/ CAD skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop as well as basic knowledge of Procreate.
  • Strong sense of technical design understanding and passion for technical portion/construction and making of garments
  • Proactive, organized, and passionate about the intersection of creative and practical design
  • 1-3 years minimum experience in design and/or product development
