Los Angeles, United States My Hamlet Full time $35 - $45
Job DescriptionJob Description

Location: Remote; hybrid if located in greater Seattle, San Francisco, or Los Angeles areas

Employment Type: Part-time (20 hours per week; preferably dispersed Monday-Friday) with opportunity for full-time employment.

Hamlet Overview: Founded in late 2022, Hamlet is a venture-backed start-up that transforms public data into easy-to-understand insights for both private- and public-sector clients. Understanding public data, particularly at the local level, can be arduous. Yet vast amounts of important information are contained in public meetings, public notices, and other documents. To address this challenge, we are dedicated to making public data more accessible and understandable for our customers. Our commitment to innovation drives us to explore new possibilities with data and AI, and we're looking for a versatile, self-motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our Editorial Operations team.

Role Summary: As an Editorial Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the creation and refinement of our AI-generated content. Your responsibilities will span from data collection and content editing to tracking the accuracy of AI outputs and collaborating with our tech and development teams. Additionally, you will be responsible for training contract editors on our processes and ensuring that our quality standards are consistently met. This role demands a high level of adaptability, a quick learning curve, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote work environment.

Work Environment:

  • Remote Work: We are a remote-first company, and candidates must be comfortable working independently and as part of a distributed team.

  • Startup Culture: We value versatility, speed, and the ability to pivot quickly as our projects and goals evolve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management & Content Editing: Collect and organize public data for AI processing, and review AI-generated content for quality and accuracy.

  • Contract Editor Oversight: Train, manage, and assign tasks to a small group (less than five) of contract editors, ensuring adherence to editorial processes and quality standards.

  • AI Accuracy & Product Collaboration: Track and document the accuracy of AI-generated content, report findings to the broader team, and collaborate with the tech team on new product ideation and the development of existing products.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Proficiency & Project Management: Comfortable with online collaboration tools, data management, and project management, with the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

  • Project Management & Operational Efficiency-Minded: Strong project manager who can not only identify and implement improvements at a granular level but also grow to drive broader process optimizations and organizational enhancements. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable refining specific tasks and workflows as well as proposing and executing strategic improvements that benefit the organization at large.

  • Detail-Oriented & Communication Skills: Strong attention to detail in editing and accuracy tracking, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.

  • Training & Mentorship: Experienced in training and mentoring others, particularly in editorial processes, ensuring consistency and quality in team output.

  • Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Highly adaptable to changing circumstances, with a resourceful approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in editorial roles, particularly with content that involves data or technical subjects.

  • Familiarity with AI or machine learning concepts (not required, but a plus).

  • Previous experience working in a startup environment.

If you're a jack-of-all-trades with a passion for content, data, and AI, and you're ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role in a fast-growing startup, we'd love to hear from you
