Our National Conversation (ONC) is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to reducing partisanship and promoting effective solutions to America's challenges. We achieve this through a media outlet, educational materials, and facilitated dialogue.

**Job Description**

We are seeking an Editorial Content Specialist to contribute to our mission by completing essential tasks for our Editorial Team. The Editorial Desk is responsible for reviewing and editing all ONC content, including books, policy proposals, solutions, op-eds, and newsletters.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Edit written content to maintain grammatical integrity for the ONC website and mobile app.
  • Ensure ONC's commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate is reflected in all published work.
  • Participate in civil dialogue with conservative, progressive, and moderate writers.
  • Work with script writers and core content writers to ensure consistency in all written materials.
  • Fact-check written content to prevent errors and maintain accuracy.

**Requirements:**

  • Current student working towards a degree in English or Literature, Political Science, Journalism, Communications, and/or related fields.
  • Exceptional writing skills are required.
  • Proficient verbal communication/speaking skills are a plus.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Prior editing experience preferred, specifically with AP style.
  • Responsive, consistent, and effective communicator.
  • Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines.
  • Google Workspace experience preferred.
  • Ability to attend Organization-Wide meetings every other week.
  • Ability to attend weekly Editorial Team meetings.
  • Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
