We are seeking a HR/Payroll Generalist to join our non-profit client full-time. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance. Your responsibilities will encompass payroll administration, benefits coordination, and record-keeping. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.  Expected starting base salary $64,000 to $69,000 per year.

Job Description:

  • Process payroll promptly and accurately, adhering to established schedules.

  • Verify and reconcile timekeeping data, deductions, and changes to ensure precise calculations.

  • Communicate payroll deadlines and processes to staff, collaborating with employees and supervisors.

  • Address payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies professionally.

  • Handle wage garnishments as required by court or government orders.

  • Maintain payroll worksheets and census spreadsheets.

  • Update employee change forms in the HRIS system.

  • Complete payroll-related journal entries and submit them to accounting.

  • Assist with year-end audits related to Worker’s Compensation and other relevant audits.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.

  • Prepare and file payroll-related reports as mandated by government agencies.

  • Manage annual employment posters, including updates due to mid-year changes, and maintain e-posters for remote employees.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration.

  • Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex).

  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain confidentiality.
