Sheet Metal/Ductwork Fabricator for Shop Work

Craftsmen Contractors is seeking a skilled Ductwork/Sheet Metal Fabricator for a local shop in the New Orleans, La. area. The work consists of working with sheet metal and ductwork in a shop area for a Sheet Metal/Ductwork company. These are temp to permanent positions for the right candidates.
Pay rate: $20 - $25/hr. depending on experience
No per diem is offered.
Job Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications.
- Cut, bend, and weld metal pieces to create finished products.
- Use tools such as micrometers, calipers, hand tools, and power tools for accurate measurements and fabrication.
- Perform stick welding and other welding techniques as needed.
- Utilize machining equipment to shape metal components.
-Ensure quality control by inspecting finished products for accuracy and adherence to specifications.
Job Requirements:
-Metal Fabrication experience working with sheet metal and/or duct work. Fabricators will need to have some stick welding experience
-Knowledge of mechanical processes and equipment
-Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures
-Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
-Proficiency with metal fabrication tools including shears, rollers, flame cutters, and drill presses.
-Familiarity with using micrometers, calipers, hand tools, and power tools for precision work
