Job Summary/Primary Functions:

Log Still Distillery is seeking an experienced Events Sales Representative who is responsible for business development for the Gethsemane Campus and the Downtown Louisville location. The event sales representative develops leads on venue bookings along with planning weddings, banquets, and other social or business functions.

Salary: Base Compensation

Major Job Responsibilities/Key Duties:

• Identifies and procures new accounts/business per established goals.

• Maintains contact and ongoing relationships with existing accounts.

• Monitors competition in the areas of venue utilization. Develops creative methods to capture business.

• Achieves established monthly revenue booking goals.

• Completes daily, weekly, monthly reports.

• Responds to all guest inquiries and third- party meeting leads to include; in person sales calls.

• Works client-related special events.

• Consults with clients to plan and determine event requirements, including number of guests and size of venue.

• Discusses menu choices and associated costs with clients.

• Collaborates with Banquet Captain regarding special items to be added to the menu.

• Oversees the preparation of the venue for the event.

• Addresses any concerns regarding food or services provided.

• As required may assist with scheduling and planning of other aspects of the event, including decorations, flowers, photographer, music, or entertainment.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills / Experience Required:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Extensive knowledge of event planning and catering requirements.

• Ability to work with clients to determine and anticipate needs of the event.

• Ability to work at a fast pace.

• Extensive knowledge of food hygiene.

• Excellent time management skills; ability to be proactive and take initiative.

• Excellent organization with attention to detail and coordination skills- ability to manage priorities and routine functions effectively and efficiently.

• Empathy- Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react

Education Required:

• High school or general education degree required.

• Experience in hotel and hospitality industry required.

Special Working Conditions (e.g. Temperature Extremes, Lifting, Noise, Off-shifts)

• Able to work flexible hours and shifts.

• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with unexpected situations.

• Frequent travel
