Role - Certified Medical Assistant - Clinical position

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Assist with rooming patients, taking vitals, performing CLIA waived labs, blood draws, EKG’s, administering injections, allergy testing, IV insertion, mixing, and removal

  • Document basic medical history in eClinicalworks EMR

  • Keep track of patient flow through clinic to keep wait times to a minimum

  • Prepare and clean/disinfect treatment rooms

  • Interact with patients with empathy, compassion, and respect

  • Assist providers with medical treatment procedures and examinations

  • Keep inventory of all supplies and report shortages to the practice manager

  • Fulfill medication refill requests according to practice protocol.

  • Address messages sent through the portal by patients.

  • Process referrals and prior authorizations

    • Maintain a friendly rapport with staff at places of referral

    • Fax paperwork as needed

Front Office Responsibilities

  • Assist with scheduling appointments while communicating with patients and family in a friendly, calm, and professional manner at all times

  • Text intake paperwork to patients prior to appointments

  • Scan and attach documents to patient files as needed

  • Address and resolve all requests presented through the phone/voice messages, portal, and fax within 24 hours

  • Be an advocate for all services provided by the company and aid in marketing when needed

  • Interact with all vendors and company representatives in a professional and friendly manner and schedule requests for appointments according to protocol

    • Bring a smile and positive attitude to work everyday. Remember the “golden rule”

Skills & Work Experience

  • Experience with eClinicalworks EMR

  • Degree in medical assistance, certification required

  • Proven working experience for at least 1 year as a medical assistant or medical secretary

    • References required

  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
