Job DescriptionJob Description

To provide bowling customers with prompt, courteous, efficient service, and to insure that maximum utilization of lanes and equipment is realized through efficient control of the flow of customers.

  • Greet customers as they enter center.  Tell them of center services and special events.
  • Assign open lanes to customers, keeping in mind any maintenance or other events going on.
  • Take reservations for lanes when none are open.
  • Rent shoes and assist customers with house balls if needed.
  • Take payment from customers, making correct change.
  • Start league play according to schedule and all preparations therefore.
  • Responsible for locker rental.
  • Handle customer phone inquiries courteously.
  • Keep track of lanes as they open up and assign them to customers on reservation list.
  • Page customers in house and/or provide message service.
  • Post bulletin boards with league notices, promotional pieces, etc.  Make promotional P.A. announcements.
  • Promote league bowling to open bowlers. 
  • Keep alert for rowdy customers who may be disturbing others.
  • Notify mechanic or concourse promptly of any pinsetter malfunctions.
  • Direct concourse to insure that clean conditions are maintained throughout bowling center.
  • Maintain records of daily operation as required, noting special occurrences or problems.
  • Handle all customer complaints, using judgment as to which ones to refer to Manager on duty.
  • Be knowledgeable and make customers aware of in house tournaments and promotions.
  • Must know how to operate cash register, Front Desk computer & software, sound system, and microphone systems.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, orderly and properly supplied work station.  (Including shoe racks)
  • Responsible for register close out, including receipts, cash, checks, and change fund.
  • Booking of parties and special events that do not require manager's approval and posting in the proper places.
  • Responsible for delivering league information, recaps, etc.  to the secretaries and making sure all league forms are stored in the specified boxes.
  • Maintain office supplies inventory notifying manager when stock is low.
  • Assist concourse in nightly cleaning after your own closing duties are completed.
