Role Overview:

Oversees retail and route operations for all stores. Responsibilities revolve around effective team member management and development, knowledge of retail store & route processes and procedures, established performance standards, and a keen awareness of each store's current and potential sales. Assists in expanding our route clientele, as well as providing support to existing route clients. Responsibilities include knowledge of ideal route candidates (location and total spending), making sure that route deliveries are running smoothly, and supporting the route drivers and our route clients.

Your Team:

You will coach the Retail Store Supervisors, assist with the management of the retail stores, show appreciation for the retail team members, strive for frictionless client experiences, and assist with any challenging client issues. You are part of our Leadership Team and report directly to the Operations Manager. You will help with managing the internal shuttle drivers and route drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state, and local employment and employee relations laws. Plus, all applicable federal, state, and local regulations on driving safety
  • Works with store and plant supervisors to recruit, interview, and select qualified team members to fill vacant positions.
  • Administers job-related employment interviews as appropriate and necessary for specific positions to all position applicants.
  • Plans and conducts new team member orientations to foster positive attitudes toward company goals.
  • Ensures that all team members receive appropriate training in the areas of client service and all company policies and processes.
  • Complete monthly physical store inventories including reconciliation.
  • Schedule and host with the Operations Manager a quarterly all-retail & route meeting.
  • Measure hours and productivity of the retail, route and production teams.
  • Monitors all team member related incidents including terminations, disciplinary issues and any information or documentation required.
  • Prepares team member separation notices and related documentation. 
  • Conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Ensures that all retail & route shifts are covered, including scheduling days off and vacations.
  • Represents the company at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Investigates store accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
  • Handles client claims and concerns.
  • Bridges communication between the retail, route and production sides of the business. Ensure quality & timeliness of route deliveries. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains professional appearance in company uniform.
  • Attends Leadership Team meetings as requested.
  • Convert top retail clients to route. Aim toward converting route to 30% of sales. Coordinate comforter bags for route clients. Take lead on Patio Cushion pick up, delivery, and storage. 
  • Supervision of all drivers and routes. Inspects all company vehicles and schedules proper maintenance.
  • Research other specialty cleaning items for pickup and delivery (drapes, area rugs, choir/band uniforms, etc.)
  • Periodically assist with inspection, bagging and finishing. 
  • Manage companywide payroll and expense targets, productivity and effectiveness

Physical Requirements:

Be on your feet for a long amount of time. Drive in between retail locations. Periodically drive vans or help with inspections, bagging or finishing.

Desired Results/Performance:

Fully staffed stores with minimum overlap time. Reduced turnover of retail, route and plant positions. Increase in sales year over year. Tightly manage payroll and expense ratios. Orchestrate workflow of a multi-store and route company. Helping our clients to feel appreciated, important, and included.

Work Conditions:

Climate controlled retail stores. Plant is hot in summer, can be cold in winter. The plant has moving equipment, chemicals, and different types of machinery.

Professional/Educational Background:

High school graduation is required. College degree preferred. Must have multi-unit retail management experience. Is proficient with general computer skills

Training Schedule:

  • Retail & Route Training Program - 10 days
  • Leadership Team Member Training - 90 days
