Part Time and/or Full Time 

Job Summary: The delivery technician is responsible for the efficient and accurate delivery of medications, supplies, and equipment to patient homes or clinics. The delivery technician interacts extensively with franchised pharmacy and nursing personnel to coordinate and schedule delivery days and times, as well as to prepare items for delivery. The delivery technician may also have a patient education role and may be responsible for medication and supply organization and storage in patient homes. This position reports to either the nurse manager or the franchised pharmacy manager, at the discretion of the franchise owner.

Qualifications:  Required: High school diploma or equivalent • Required: At least 18 years of age • Required: Valid driver’s license with good driving record • Required: Good interactive skills with employees, supervisors, referral sources, and consumers • Preferred: DME or pharmacy delivery experience (or other healthcare related experience).

Job Functions:

*Coordinates with the pharmacy and nursing staff regarding patient delivery days and times.

*Follows company procedures for infection control and patient safety when handling and delivering patient medications and supplies.

*Accurately prepares supplies and equipment for dispensing. Provides adequate and accurate information and instructions to patients, family members, and/or home health agency nurses regarding the use of equipment and the storage of medications.

*Consistently documents instructions given to the patient, family members, and or home health agency nurses. Coordinates the pick-up of unused supplies and equipment with the pharmacy and nursing staff, and documents supplies which have been returned for disposal.

*Assists with quality control procedures as directed by the supervisor.

*Maintains the delivery vehicle in good, clean and working condition, and maintains a vehicle maintenance log.

*Completes required paperwork/documentation forms in a timely manner.
