ob Summary:

The Construction Plumbing Estimator is responsible for analyzing project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates for plumbing systems in construction projects. This role involves coordinating with project managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure accurate and competitive pricing for all plumbing-related aspects of a project.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Analysis:

    • Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project requirements.

    • Conduct site visits to assess project scope and identify potential challenges.

  2. Cost Estimation:

    • Prepare detailed and itemized cost estimates for plumbing systems, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.

    • Use estimation software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

  3. Bid Preparation:

    • Compile and submit comprehensive bids and proposals for plumbing projects.

    • Ensure all bids are submitted on time and meet client requirements.

  4. Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination:

    • Solicit and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.

    • Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive rates.

  5. Budgeting and Cost Control:

    • Assist in the preparation of project budgets.

    • Monitor costs during project execution to ensure adherence to the budget.

  6. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and detailed estimates.

    • Communicate effectively with clients to clarify project requirements and address any concerns.

  7. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and project costs.

    • Prepare regular reports on estimation activities and project cost performance.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in plumbing estimating within the construction industry.

    • Proven track record of preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

  • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods.

    • Proficient in estimation software (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, or similar tools).

    • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Effective communication and negotiation skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Other Requirements:

    • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
