Job Summary:
As an IT Technician at Cable Insurance, you will play a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing our IT infrastructure. You will work closely with various departments to provide technical support, ensure system reliability, and contribute to the overall efficiency and security of our operations. This role requires a proactive and customer-oriented approach to assist employees with their IT-related needs and resolve issues promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support: Provide hands-on assistance and timely resolution of IT-related issues faced by employees. Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
2. Network Management: Assist in maintaining and monitoring the company's local area network (LAN) and wireless network infrastructure. Ensure network connectivity, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement network security measures.
3. System Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, patches, and system backups. Monitor system performance and take corrective actions to optimize efficiency.
4. User Training: Conduct basic training sessions for employees on using various software applications, hardware devices, and IT security best practices.
5. Hardware and Software Procurement: Assist in evaluating and recommending hardware and software solutions, and coordinate the purchase and installation of approved IT equipment.
6. Information Security: Collaborate with the IT team to implement security measures and policies, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and compliance with industry regulations.
7. IT Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, network configurations, and troubleshooting procedures for easy reference and knowledge sharing.
8. Technology Upgrades: Assist in planning and executing technology upgrades and migrations to enhance the company's IT infrastructure.
9. Vendor Management: Liaise with external IT vendors and service providers to resolve issues, acquire support, and manage service contracts.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: A degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, SQL) are advantageous.
- Experience: Prior experience in providing technical support in an IT helpdesk or similar role is desirable. Familiarity with network administration and hardware troubleshooting is a plus.
