Objective:         Manage the AP Department to ensure accurate, timely and efficient vendor payments.

Essential Functions:

1.     Manages and supervises the accounts payable department and staff in the organization.

2.     Develops, implements, and maintains systems, procedures, and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.

3.     Oversee all payment transactions such as ACH, wires, credit cards, paper checks and so on.

4.     Will be in charge of data entry, validation, and processing of various types of invoices, and employee travel reimbursements.

5.     Keeps track of the status of all transactions taking place within the company and external vendors and contractors.

6.     Standardize procedures to generate efficiency in-house and create internal templates to be used by the company.

7.     Hiring, training, motivating, and evaluating accounts payable staff members.

8.     Setting and facilitating the achievement of department objectives.

9.     Handles any other requests that would be required to accomplish tasks. Performs other related job functions as needed to reach results.

Work Environment:

This job takes place in a professional office environment. You will routinely use office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, fax machines, and filing cabinets.

·       Required to sit, stand, walk, use hands for various tasks, talk and hear.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel:

Travel is not required.

Preferred Education & Experience:

·       Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

·       Five or more years of previous accounts payable experience.

·       Two or more years of previous leadership experience.

·       Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software.

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

·       Solid communication skills, interpersonal skills and record keeping skills.

·       Basic working knowledge of computer systems and related software.

·       Knowledgeable of accounting and financial systems and procedures, company policies and department operations.

·       Strong analytical and problem solving skills

·       Knowledge of online filing and expense reimbursement software

·       Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
