Job DescriptionJob Description

Accountability for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a plant with multiple operating units. Responsible for ensuring production requirements are met, and the facilities are operated in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. The role manages a team of 16 plant operators and technicians at the facility. This is a front-line operations role that will respond to unplanned events, work independently, and make technical decisions and recommendations to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the facility. Establishes goals, promotes decision-making, delegates as appropriate and overcomes obstacles. Monitors external/internal trends, develops procedures, makes judgments and takes organization-wide actions that set precedents.

 

 

 

 

DUTIES / RESPONISIBILITIES

Ø  Staff, train, coach, and administer performance reviews, recommend salary increases and corrective action of subordinate employees.

Ø  Ensures compliance to all safety policies and procedures, leads operational discipline throughout the employee organizations, works closely with the SH&E organization in achieving established goals.

Ø  Ensures compliance with all local, state, federal, and company policies regarding environmental regulations and permitting, internal engineering standards, and product quality requirements.

Ø  Works across all levels of organization to achieve desired results into a cohesive and effective management team.

Ø  Responsible for process safety information related to plant activities (EMOC, RMP, HWP).

Ø  Maximize efficiency and operating capacity of the plant and distribution.

Ø  Troubleshooting plant process & equipment problems and implement solutions.

Ø  Tasked with leading special projects within the facility.

Ø  Maintain QA program, facilitate customer and corporate audits.

Ø  Assists with coordination of maintenance and project work with reliability centers and capital project teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective execution.

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

v  Bachelor's degree in engineering; 4+ years operations experience, 2+ years operations management experience.

v  Must be a self-starter with the ability to drive execution of projects and strategic and tactical initiatives.

v  Must possess proven leadership, team building, and decision-making skills.

v  Must be reliability and efficiency focused and possess strong planning and execution skills.

v  Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse and inclusive workforce to achieve desired results.

v  Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
