JOB SUMMARY:

The QC Document Control Specialist is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining quality documentation, such as government contract quality packages and shipping documentation. The QC Document Control Specialist also verifies and records outgoing shipments, scans documents, and provides documentation support for quality audits.

  • None

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Documents quantity, quality, and inspection test results to maintain accurate shipping and production records/files.
  • Examines contents and compares records such as purchase orders to verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments.
  • Prepares quality packages to contractual government requirements.
  • Reviews and analyzes current documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Establishes, implements, and manages document templates with approval of the Quality Manager.
  • Analyzes document changes for completeness and aligns with change history. Ensures the correct and timely implementation of document control requests. Verifies own work, checks format and compliance with document templates.
  • Creates clear, detailed, and visually well-designed documents.
  • Demonstrates excellent and consistent attention to detail.
  • Provides documentation support during internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Communicates with customers and vendors to ensure proper documentation is being provided.
  • Maintains scanning and filing of electronic documents related to quality control.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of company quality assurance standards, internal policies, processes, and procedures and external regulations.

Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 – 2 years of related experience highly preferred.
  • Experience working with AS9102 First Article Inspection Report Forms.
  • Knowledge of administrative/clerical procedures and systems to manage files/records.
  • Must have exceptional writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problem solving.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must pass a post-employment offer drug screen and background check.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in the manufacturing office environment at the Main Plant located in Westbrook, Maine. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain stationary at a desk, work on a computer with frequent interruptions; handle or feel small components. The employee frequently positions self to reach for objects, maintain and operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of computer keyboard, move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and to communicate to exchange information. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
