Our company (Greenyard Logistics USA, Inc.) is looking for a Cold Storage Maintenance Technician. Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. POSITION PURPOSE:

In this position, your chief responsibility is to preserve the excellent condition and functionality of our manufacturing plant. This position is exposed to multiple refrigerated areas within the facility performing general maintenance, and repairs on facility equipment and property structures.

Skill and Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to work in a cold environment.
  • Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to handle physical workload.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented.

BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Follow all GMP procedures.
  • Follow all Food Safety, Food Quality Safety Policies.
  • Inspecting building, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
  • Perform minor building, plumbing, electrical, and painting repairs as necessary.
  • Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
  • Planning and scheduling repairs.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to perform repetitive movements (i.e., bending, stooping, pushing). The associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to move about within a fast-paced environment in/outside the facility.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs/ladder for repairs.
  • Ability to frequently move, push, or carry items up to 40 lbs.
  • Exposed to a cold environment of 32 to 42 degrees. Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must be able to detect, identify, inspect, observe, and assess surroundings.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The normal working environment requires routine and frequent meeting of critical deadlines.
