Summary Description:

Ø The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. The technician is driven by problem solving, embraces challenges, and passionate about maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, control components, photo eyes, motor starters, relays, conveyors, etc.
  • Understanding of PLC’s with advanced troubleshooting of PLC programs
  • Understand and perform required LOTO procedures in a safe manner prior to maintenance on machines
  • Install or dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble machines and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation, run tests on equipment, troubleshoot problems with electrical equipment, repair and maintain existing equipment.
  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, schematics, blueprints, equipment manuals and other diagrams.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Must be aware of safety hazards at all times

· Perform any and all other job-related tasks as assigned

· Observes safety procedures, determine appropriate action, and report potentially unsafe conditions

Required Education and Experience:

High school degree or GED is required

2+ years or more industrial maintenance experience

Working Conditions/Physical Conditions:

Must be able to bend, reach, lift and move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

Exposure to PPE and working environment typical to foundry workshop

Must be able to climb up on ladders, equipment and roofs as necessary
