Job Opportunity at Spears Manufacturing Co

We are seeking a skilled Machine Shop Technician to join our team at Spears Manufacturing Co, a leading manufacturer of plastic valves, fittings, and pipe since 1969.

Job Summary:
  • Machine Shop Technician: We are looking for a highly skilled Machinist with experience in manual and CNC machining, injection mold background, and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintenance Specialist: We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator with experience in Mig/Tig welding, pipe/steel, and aluminum, as well as ability to read and understand tool drawings/blueprints.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Machine Shop Technician:
    • Work independently with minimal supervision
    • Ability to read and understand tool drawings/blueprints
    • Hold close tolerances of plus/minus 0.002 inches
    • Program, set-up, and operate Hurco mills, Fadal mills, or Romi lathes with Fanuc control
    • 3D mill M/CAM experience is a plus
  • Maintenance Specialist:
    • Mig/Tig welding pipe/steel and aluminum
    • Work independently with minimal supervision
    • Ability to read and understand tool drawings/blueprints
Requirements:
  • Machine Shop Technician:
    • High school graduate, trade school, or technical school
    • Experience in manual and CNC machining, injection mold background, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to program equipment and know the concept well
  • Maintenance Specialist:
    • High school graduate, trade school, or technical school
    • Experience in Mig/Tig welding, pipe/steel, and aluminum
    • Ability to read and understand tool drawings/blueprints
