Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our team in a new, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to producing innovative agricultural machinery products. The ideal candidate will have experience with some, but not necessarily all, of the following: Sheet Metal Fabrication, CNC Lathe, CAM, Fusion 360, CNC Plasma, and CNC Press Brake, Product design and development. This position offers the unique opportunity to work closely with the owner and be part of the exciting process of product and process improvement.

Location:

Position is located in Wilmington, OH. Some remote work may occasionally be permissible for appropriate tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and maintain CNC Lathe machines to produce precision parts.
  • Utilize CAM software, including Fusion 360, to create and modify CNC programs.
  • Perform sheet metal fabrication tasks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Operate CNC Plasma and CNC Press Brake machines for cutting and forming metal parts.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and compliance with design specifications.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in the ongoing development and improvement of new products.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols and company policies.
  • Document production activities and maintain accurate records of materials used and products produced.
  • Set-up and maintain shop routings and work orders.  

Qualifications:

  • Experience with one or more of the following: CNC Lathe, CNC Plasma, CNC Press Brake, sheet metal fabrication, CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360).
  • Strong understanding of fabrication techniques and principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments.

Experience:

  • Certification or degree in Manufacturing Technology, Machining, or a related field.
  • Additional experience with other CNC machines or fabrication tools (5+ years).
  • Familiarity with industry-standard safety practices and regulations.
  • Read, interpret, edit and create manufacturing drawings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move materials as required.
  • Perform work at manufacturing equipment in the production space.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
