About The Role:

As a Senior Geotechnical & Construction Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing construction materials testing and geotechnical projects, ensuring the highest level of quality and compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with clients, project teams, and laboratory staff to deliver successful projects while upholding our commitment to excellence. Spearheading medium to large-scale Construction Materials Testing, Special Inspections, and Geotechnical projects from start to finish, you will manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocations. You will engage closely with clients to grasp their unique project needs and go the extra mile to ensure their utmost satisfaction.

Additionally, you will nurture and guide a team of skilled professionals and field-based personnel, fostering their growth in client relations and project management. Cultivating a robust local client base and expanding your professional network to drive revenue growth that aligns with our ambitious financial goals will be essential. You will take the lead in local and regional business development endeavors, amplifying our presence through strategic marketing efforts. Finally, you will craft meticulous field and laboratory cost estimates and proposals tailored to project specifications, International Building Code (IBC) standards, and client preferences.

What You Bring:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related field
  • You have 5+ years of experience with Construction Materials Testing, Special Inspections and Geotechnical projects
  • You are a Professional Engineer (PE) and would be able to obtain your Indiana certification (through reciprocity).
  • You have a strong working knowledge of applicable ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards and procedures, IBC Special Inspections, and geotechnical recommendations.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, a crucial skill in client-facing roles.
  • You are enthusiastic about taking a leadership role in client engagements, using your technical background to offer solutions that align with client needs and project goals.
  • You have a proven track record in business development, with experience in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the geotechnical and construction materials testing sectors.
  • You have a proactive approach to client communication, ensuring a clear understanding of their needs and a commitment to exceeding their expectations.
  • You are willing to work outside, maneuver equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
