Construction Purchasing Agent

Aventura Construction Corp., a leader in the Commercial & Environmental Construction Service Industry, has an opening for a purchasing agent with over three years of construction purchasing experience.

 

Responsibilities

·         Assist with bid preparation

·         Process requisitions for materials and equipment from project managers and field

·         Source materials and equipment as specified in plans

·         Create and maintain positive vendor relationships

·         Obtain pricing from vendors and make prudent purchasing decisions

·         Prepare and obtain Submittals

·         Create Purchase Orders using Sage 100 and track orders through to completion

·         Confirm receipt of materials and ensure accuracy of all orders

·         Troubleshoot any problems regarding orders

·         Communicate delays and perform excellent follow-up to support construction operations

·         Prepare closeout documentation for completed jobs

·         Attend weekly status meetings and give valuable input regarding job progress

·         Collaborate with QA/QC to obtain material certifications, product data, sds etc.

 

Requirements

·         3+ years construction purchasing and/or construction administration

·         The individual for this role must be highly organized, demonstrate good communication skills and teamwork, and excel in a fast-paced environment

·         College graduate preferable

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe and/or Bluebeam, and accounting applications

·         Excellent communication skills, written and oral
