The American Solar & Roofing’s (AS&R) HR Generalist leads all recruiting and HR related functions. The right person facilitates recruiting, sourcing, staffing, onboarding, training curriculum, benefit programs, employee communication, employee retention/satisfaction programs, and oversees benefit programs.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assume the role of HR Liaison between AS&R and our PEO company, Creative Business Resources, Inc. (CBR)
  • Facilitates HR questions/concerns, including changes to direct deposit, tax withholding rates (W4), personal information, etc. with CBR.
  • Facilitates parental leave, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, WC, and other types of leave with CBR and employee’s supervisor
  • Coordinates with supervisors and CBR regarding disciplinary documentation/reports, reviews, pay rate changes, apartment deposits, etc.
  • Coordinate with CBR in response to Unemployment notices and other official notices accurately and in a timely manner. Process terminations with supervisors and CBR
  • Report Worker’s Comp injuries and follow-up as needed
  • Address new employee benefits enrollment, coordinate annual open enrollment procedures with CBR for all employees (follow-up as needed)
  • Manage all recruitment processes related to hiring for open positions, including:
  • Posting, recruiting, sourcing, interviewing & onboarding applicants through proactively using online and in-house systems.
  • Perform pre-employment interviews, review drug/background check results, send offer letters, etc.
  • Conduct new employee orientations, develop/monitor training curriculum, lead facility tours and ensure employees gain an understanding of company culture, policies, and expectations
  • Manage, maintain, time & attendance system by adding employees, approving hours
  • Create, maintain, and update employee files/records both electronically and physically
  • Maintain Employee Handbook, and related documents, as needed
  • Acts as point person for Culture Index training, testing, and review
  • Coordinate employee retention and satisfaction programs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years HR experience, preferred
  • 3+ years professional experience (in addition to HR experience) preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree (in a HR or business field) preferred
