Responsibilities

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

•              Serve as a staff augmenter/consultant for NYCHA, overseeing design projects under the Mechanical/Plumbing team for NYCHA's Architecture and Engineering Services.

•              Conduct comprehensive design reviews and manage external consultants, facilitating progress from design to procurement stages.

•              Oversee multiple renovation projects across various NYCHA developments, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.

•              Collaborate with other teams at NYCHA, such as Sustainability and Landscape Architecture, to review any plumbing or mechanical scope in their projects and provide technical expertise as needed.

•              Typical projects include boiler replacement projects, hot water heater decoupling, and office and community center renovations.

•              Act as the primary liaison between NYCHA and CSA Group, aligning projects with client needs and strategic goals.

•              Follow a hybrid remote schedule with 3 days in person and 2 days remote per week.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

•              Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

•              5 years of mechanical/plumbing design experience

•              OSHA-30 Certification

•              Experience working on NYCHA projects

•              Familiar working in e-Builder
