San Francisco, United States Coalesce Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

Since founding Coalesce, our mission has remained the same: to improve the lives of data professionals by helping them transform data as efficiently as possible. We aim to end the days of arduous manual coding and inflexible GUIs by providing a best-of-both-worlds solution.

We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our dynamic team and contribute to designing world-class products that meet the complex needs of our customers. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our product and engineering team to shape the future of our data-focused products and drive their success in the market.

What you will be doing:

  • Craft elegant and user-friendly interfaces, user flows, and prototypes for a highly technical data SaaS product.

  • Own the design of new functionality end-to-end.

  • Conduct user research and usability testing with customers and internal stakeholders to gather feedback and refine functionality and features.

  • Collaborate with product management in defining the problem and assist with requirements.

  • Sync regularly with engineering to ensure the viability of proposed solutions and guide ongoing implementation work.

  • Continuously improve the product by suggesting improvements to existing functionality.

  • Contribute and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.

What we are looking for:

  • 5-6 years experience as a proven Product Designer.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

  • Experience solving complex problems for specialized domains and turning them into elegant, user friendly solutions.

  • A strong portfolio showcasing examples of your work, your design process, and the outcomes/results.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • A curious and collaborative mindset.

  • A pragmatist who knows to push for excellence when needed.

  • Proficiency in Figma and other industry standard tools.

  • Experience working with existing component libraries; you know when to use an existing component or create a custom one.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with a small team of product managers, designers, and stakeholders.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum development process.

  • Self-starter with strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • Flexibility to accommodate US Pacific working hours.

  • Bonus: Strong understanding of data management concepts, data warehousing, or related technologies.

Since founding Coalesce in 2020, our mission has remained the same: to improve the lives of data professionals by helping them transform data as efficiently as possible. We aim to bring an end to the days of arduous manual coding and inflexible GUIs by providing a best of both worlds solution.

Coalesce is a fully remote and culture-first company. We believe that our culture is what allows us to not only recruit world-class talent, but also retain it. At Coalesce, you can expect to experience radical honesty, trust in the workplace empathy for yourself and others, and support for continuous learning and improvement.

US Benefits: Coalesce offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: Medical insurance; Dental insurance; Vision insurance; Life, AD&D, and Disability Insurance; Unlimited Paid Time off, Paid Sick Time, Equity, Internet Reimbursement, WFH Office Set-Up Reimbursement, 401(k) retirement plan, and Company Annual Leave between December 26- January 2.
