My client is seeking an innovative Senior Purchasing Agent to join their team. 

THIS ROLE IS ONSITE IN HUNTINGTON BEACH AND IS A DIRECT ROLE WITH MY CLIENT.

In this role, you will coordinate the full cycle purchasing and sourcing process, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract execution for their global operations. 

Essential Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to handle the following:

  • Analyze financial and procurement data to craft negotiation strategies and approve purchasing contracts with optimal terms.
  • Apply knowledge of sourcing strategies in the aerospace/automotive/manufacturing environments. 
  • Manage and maintain accurate MRP inputs including supplier, lead times, and pricing.
  • Write specifications, prepare bids, handle the bidding process, and analyze market availability.
  • Drive supplier performance, establish key performance metrics, and communicate when serious variations arise in delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
  • Purchase supplies and materials at the optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining the lowest possible inventory levels.
  • Adapt to changing market conditions to ensure supply chain availability and quality conformance of all purchases.
  • Prepares and submits foreign and domestic quotations with information from customers, distributors, or sales representatives.
  • Verifies profit margins, validity dates, etc. on specially priced items.
  • Verifies and analyzes quotations based on prior quotations, the current market price for the items involved, and customer purchasing history when deriving quotations.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 – 5 years’ experience purchasing and quoting
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Advanced Excel user; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating customer or vendor contracts and T&C's.
