Signing Exact English (S.E.E.)  Interpreter

This role will be in a school environment. You will work with students who are hard of hearing or deaf, as well as with and support teachers, classroom personnel, and school staff when needed.

What you'll do: 

  • Interpretation Services, Educational Support, Collaboration, Adaptation and Preparation and Professional Development 
  • Assists the student with set up of note-taking, interpretation of spoken English
  • Participates in educational team activities, IEP meetings, conferences and communication strategies
  • Acts as a liaison between students, peers and school members
  • Manages school work preparation, ie schedules, materials planning, data collection and professional development opportunities 

What you'll bring:

  • Certified in SEE interpretation or completion of a recognized training program 
  • Previous experience working with children 
  • Able to work with a variety of people and personalities: students, support staff, teachers, administration and parents
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable and personable 
  • Able to undergo a background check and finger-printing
