Job Title: Medical Distribution Specialist

Location: La Mesa, CA 91942 (ONSITE)

Duration: 3+ months contract

PR: $22-25/hr on W2

Shift Timing: 0500-1330 (Morning shift); 1300-2130 (Evening Shift); 2100-0530 (Night Shift)

Duties:

Regularly accepts responsibility for Distribution activities and reports questionable matters to the Lead Tech. Prioritizes and completes tasks according to the needs of the department/hospital. Seeks out additional duties such as assisting with special projects or assisting coworkers. Demonstrates ability to provide assistance to coworkers and other hospital staff. Demonstrates willingness and ability to contribute to the team effort and responds positively to changes in departmental/health system operational needs, including fluctuations in census and/or acuity by.

Problem analysis and resolution:

Approaches problems in a positive and professional manner. Displays patience in dealing with complex and time consuming issues. Maintain an open dialogue with customers and provide feedback in a timely manner. Clearly explains options and solutions to customers, co-workers and hospital staff. Seeks help from co-workers and/or other available resources whenever possible.

Professionalism:

Completes assigned workload in a timely basis while maintaining quality of work. Displays competency in areas including, but not limited to distribution, equipment, transportation of supplies and medications (e.g. IV solutions), stocking regular carts and automated cabinets, delivery, patient charging/reconciliation procedures, repair work order submission, invoicing, inventory management, disaster preparedness carts, and stock rotation. Complies with department/hospital dress code. Participates in department staff meetings. Attends position related seminar.

Safety:

Demonstrates knowledge of all Materiel Safety Data Sheets as evidenced by locating the MSDS book and being able to instruct and direct co-workers in the interpretation and use of MSDS sheets. Demonstrate knowledge in areas of safe materials handling, and the safe operation of warehouse equipment.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • General knowledge of medical terminology and products.
  • Knowledge of computer functions and data entry.
  • Ability to handle high telephone volume.
  • Previous experience in stock and distribution procedures.
  • Hospital experience preferred

Education:

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
